So I managed to read and actually keep track of what I read this month! Also, since the new job, I’ve managed to be able to have a lot more time for reading and I love it! So, click the break to find out how I spend my month reading! ❤
Kell is one of the last Antari—magicians with a rare, coveted ability to travel between parallel Londons; Red, Grey, White, and, once upon a time, Black.
Kell was raised in Arnes—Red London—and officially serves the Maresh Empire as an ambassador, traveling between the frequent bloody regime changes in White London and the court of George III in the dullest of Londons, the one without any magic left to see.
Unofficially, Kell is a smuggler, servicing people willing to pay for even the smallest glimpses of a world they’ll never see. It’s a defiant hobby with dangerous consequences, which Kell is now seeing firsthand.
After an exchange goes awry, Kell escapes to Grey London and runs into Delilah Bard, a cut-purse with lofty aspirations. She first robs him, then saves him from a deadly enemy, and finally forces Kell to spirit her to another world for a proper adventure.
Now perilous magic is afoot, and treachery lurks at every turn. To save all of the worlds, they’ll first need to stay alive.
Anything can happen once upon a con…
When geek girl Elle Wittimer sees a cosplay contest sponsored by the producers of Starfield, she has to enter. First prize is an invitation to the ExcelsiCon Cosplay Ball and a meet-and-greet with the actor slated to play Federation Prince Carmindor in the reboot. Elle’s been scraping together tips from her gig at the Magic Pumpkin food truck behind her stepmother’s back, and winning this contest could be her ticket out once and for all—not to mention a fangirl’s dream come true.
Teen actor Darien Freeman is less than thrilled about this year’s ExcelsiCon. He used to live for conventions, but now they’re nothing but jaw-aching photo sessions and awkward meet-and-greets. Playing Federation Prince Carmindor is all he’s ever wanted, but the diehard Starfield fandom has already dismissed him as just another heartthrob. As ExcelsiCon draws near, closet nerd Darien feels more and more like a fake—until he meets a girl who shows him otherwise.
Oh, my goodness..what can I say about this book that hasn’t already been said?
A lot of people who I follow have read this and didn’t like it, but I am so glad I decided to read it for myself. I had a bad night at work last night and I think this book was the only thing that stopped me from losing it.
The entire time this was me:
This book was so freaking adorable! I loved it! It followed the Cinderella plot pretty closely and yes, there is some diversity in this book. It was GREAT. I had a couple issues with it, so it’s 4 stars but seriously..
GO GET THIS BOOK AND READ IT. NOW.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley, all opinions are my own.
Hey guys! It’s been a good minute since I was able to be on here. My laptop died and I just got a new one, so I can do reviews again! I have some that I need to go back and review for netgalley and ect, but I have all the excitement to be back doing this again! How has everyone been?
I recently got a new job, AND a puppy! She’s a white german shepherd and I’ve named her Mollie. She’s got to be the cutest thing ever.
So, I did one thing in the month of March. I worked.. a lot. Hence the no blog posts for the entire month. I’m actually typing this out on my phone at work so hopefully the format won’t be too wonky. I’m also going to be going between the wordpress app and my goodreads app so lets hope this works!
1.) Forever Too Far (Rosemary Beach#3) by Abbi Glines
If I remember correctly, I read a LOT of these short new adult novels due to the location of the new job. Actually, looking back, I did.
2.) Rush Too Far (Rosemary Beach#4) by Abbi Glines
3.) Twisted Perfection (Rosemary Beach#5) by Abbi Glibes
4.) Simple Perfection (Rosemary Beach#6) by Abbi Glines
5.) Take a Chance (Rosemary Beach#7) by Abbi Glines
Note: These are not the best new adult books but I enjoy them and I had a terrible mental health month and I enjoyed them so no attacking me for my reading choices. Kk?
6) Now I Rise (The Conqueror’s Saga #2) by Kiersten White
Somehow hell froze over and I randomly got an ARC for this in the mail? I have no clue but I am planning a spoiler free review.
7) #famous by Jilly Gagnon
I started and finished this one in ebook format yesterday, I do have a few days left in March but I really don’t think I’m going to finish anything else.
Be on the lookout for a book haul soon because oh girl, did I buy some books!
Hey, guys! I usually read a lot more than this in a month, and I probably will read this plus some but, I live in literal spring break hell. Which means March is the busiest time of the year for me. I’ll probably be working overtime and I don’t wlant to stress myself out that much.
For audiobooks, I’m planning on finishing City of Bones by Cassandra Clare and I’m not sure if I’m going to move on to City of Ashes or listen to Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman.
Okay, it’s currently February 27th and I’m working on Now I Rise by Kiersten White. I’ll probably finish it tomorrow but Lifeblood by Gena Showalter and The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas, and Daughter of a Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller all come out tomorrow. I have them preordered so they are all for sure on my TBR for March.
Due to the back and forth to work, everything else will be read on my kindle this month which is great for me because it’s also how I listen to Audible. I need to finish Rose Blood Rebellion so I can put my review up for it but everything else is kind of up in the air. I just looked in my kindle and I need to finish Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher, I want to do a Beauty and Beast book (I have so many options but it’s one of my favorite Disney movies so I’m open to suggestions!) and I also have Long May She Reign by Rhiannon Thomas. Everything else that I read will probably be the attitude of “What am I in the mood for right now?” Type deal because with everything else that she going on in my life this coming month, I ain’t about to add even more stress to it!
So, I’m having an allergic reaction and I’m on Benadryl and nausea medicine. Obviously, this is stopping ,e from being able to concentrate on my book that I’m reading so I thought I would do this instead!
What do you like about buying new books?
Most of my books from amazon preorders that I will order months ahead of time, and I’ll forget about it until they show up at my house and it’s a really nice surprise. Or a present from me to me.
How often do you buy new books?
It depends on the time of year. Sometimes I’ll go a few weeks without buying any, but then there are times where I will get 4 or 5 in a day.
Bookstore or online book shopping-which do you prefer?
Usually online. In my town, I only have one bookstore that could be better stocked. Although, every time I go out of town and I find a Barnes and Noble I will always stop!
Do you have a favorite book shop?
Yes, I do! Malaprop’s in Asheville, North Carolina. I’m about to move there soon and I’m so excited to get to visit more often. But here’s the website to it. Malaprops
Do you preorder books?
Yes, I do! I usually preorder from amazon, and I’ll get the lowest price from the date I preorder to when they ship it to me. I love that!
Do you have a monthly book buying limit?
No, I don’t. I’m an adult without many bills. If I want a book, I will buy it. 🙂
Book buying bans- are they something for you?
Nope, see above. 🙂
How big is your wishlist?
Pretty big, but it’s mainly unreleased preorders.
Which three books from your wishlist do you wish to own now?
Hahahahaha okay, here we go.
Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare
Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J Maas
Now I rise by Kierstin White!
